Hungary 2012 GP
Wednesday, August 01
With rare exceptions (who can forget the diabolical pass of Nelson Piquet on Ayrton Senna in 1986?), the "No Passing" sign is unfortunately a tradition at the Hungaroring, and this year's race was no exception. Apart from that, it's one of the nicer venues, rolling hills and interesting angles, good for photographers! Lewis Hamilton was in a league of his own, dominating practice and qualifying before leading the race from start to finish. It's now time for everyone to rest a bit, and rendez-vous in Spa!
British GP 2012
Thursday, July 12
Mark Webber is a remarkable man, a tough, resilient Aussie who will never give up, and has that amazing quality to rise from the ashes, like the proverbial Phoenix. His victory in Silverstone has now put him on orbit as a top notch contender for the Championship, and wow, would that be a popular event if Webbo managed to pull that one! On the other end of the spectrum, the McLaren brigade, once a favorite, seems to have stalled in a mysterious way... Hamilton was desperately struggling, while Button was -again- nowhere. What happened?
Canada 2012 GP
Wednesday, June 13
And the seventh winner is... Lewis Hamilton!
It just had to be Lewis, I mean, no Grand Prix wins so far, for this man? Come on... Some wins are predictable, you can feel them coming, and this was one of them. I have often remarked how drivers have affinities for some places (race tracks) and not with others. A sort of strange variable "luck", or rather destiny, which has no rational explanation. Unless you believe life is ruled by chance of course; I don't. Anyway, will there be an eighth driver in Valencia? Bets are open. But I think that what matters is that contenders for the Championship have now showed their cards: Hamilton, Alonso, Vettel and Webber, it will be a four way battle. |
