And the seventh winner is... Lewis Hamilton!
It just had to be Lewis, I mean, no Grand Prix wins so far, for this man? Come on...
Some wins are predictable, you can feel them coming, and this was one of them.
I have often remarked how drivers have affinities for some places (race tracks)
and not with others. A sort of strange variable "luck", or rather destiny, which has
no rational explanation. Unless you believe life is ruled by chance of course; I don't.
Anyway, will there be an eighth driver in Valencia? Bets are open. But I think that
what matters is that contenders for the Championship have now showed their cards:
Hamilton, Alonso, Vettel and Webber, it will be a four way battle.

Was Monaco a great race?
Yes, because it's Monaco, because it's like no other one, because the cars are just so close, loud, thrilling!
But no, it was not a great vintage. For two reasons.
One is that nothing really happened during the race: the top drivers on the grid finished the race in basically the same order, (oh yes, Alonso did pass Hamilton!... in the pits). Otherwise, the infamous train, led by Webber (nice to see the Aussie winning of course), just went round and round...
The other reason is that the man who took Pole position, in brilliant fashion, started the race in sixth position, thus losing any chance of winning. This bad boy, Michael Schumacher, was given Capital Monaco Punishment for a collision that happened two weeks before during the Spanish Grand Prix. Apparently, Stewards of the meeting seem to think that F1 drivers have accidents on purpose, and should be punished. F1 Kindergarten.

It seems that a form of insanity had descended upon Formula 1...
It's one thing for different World Champions to win races, and it's was not really a surprise to see Nico Rosberg finally winning his first Grand Prix, but Pastor Maldonado, in a Williams?...
I'm not underestimating Pastor's obvious talent, and I'm absolutely happy for the courageous and tenacious Frank Williams and his team, but beating Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari and Lotus? Everyone will have their five cents explanation, but there is something that's hard to understand in all this.
On a final note, a special mention goes to Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniel Ricciardo: the two Toro Rosso team mates fought a merciless battle, passing and repassing each other in spectacular fashion while never doing anything stupid; pure, refreshing juvenile skill, and great talent.
PS- Did Hamilton really deserve to be thrown from his brilliant pole to the back of the grid?
PPS- Once again, Alonso was a real devil, what a driver! For sure in a league of his own.
